Our Philosophy
At Delbrook House we positively support, and actively engage with, the following key values
Choice
Empowering a Service User to make their own choices --- About how they live their lives, about how we meet their needs.
Dignity
Understanding the needs of a Service User and treating them with absolute respect.
Privacy
Acknowledging the right and need for a Service User to be left-alone and undisturbed whenever they wish.
Independence
Empowering a Service User to manage calculated risks, enabling them to feel confident to make their own decisions, and to think and act for themselves.
Fulfillment
Enabling the Service User to recognise (and hopefully achieve) their own goals in all aspects of their lives.
Valuing People
At Delbrook House we believe in empowering and enabling Service Users to do things for themselves and to make decisions about their life rather than having things done for them. Our Service users are encouraged and enabled to participate in activities and interests of their choice. The recommendations of the white paper Valuing People are also very much to the forefront of our care delivery. Service Users are respected with dignity as individuals, given the opportunity of making informed choices wherever possible and supported to achieve progression in everyday activities. Community presence and participation are achieved through involvement in the wider community and the use of social networks and community facilities.
